Some music videos are good, but Lat Lag Gayee is a masterpiece. The video combines stunning visuals with a soulful song, bringing together priceless moments from India’s rich cultural heritage and the vibrant present day. The cinematography transports you to different parts of India at different times in history. Scenes show dancers moving to the rhythm of the tabla, folk musicians singing songs from centuries ago, and military soldiers outfitted in traditional garb marching for battle. But it is the performances of two Hindi film stars that steal the show. First is Aamir Khan, who plays a dying soldier and invites us to accompany him on his final journey: "Alvida aliveee...oh na jhoole jhoole..." The second star is Katrina Kaif who steals scenes as a village girl named "Lat Lag Gayee", who can't stop dancing. The highlight comes when she dances for the very first time in public, receiving rapturous applause from hundreds of villagers. The other performances are good, but it's the two stars above who bring the video to life. The video starts with a young girl named Lat Lag Gayee, who is about to be married off to a wretched and abusive man. She escapes and escapes by dancing in front of all the villagers and makes them dance too. A wise old man gives her a boon that she can only return when he sings for her, which he does in a form of "Aayee Na". In an airport she meets up with Aamir Khan , who plays a death-row prisoner , whom she falls in love with. Her warden kills him but her lover's spirit lives on inside her . As the video ends, she is dancing , surrounded by merry dancers. Lyrics by: Shabbir Ahmed (Shani) Its official music video on YouTube. It has more than 1.4 million views as of October 2012.
