Sathya is a short Tamil movie that depicts the story of a young man, who comes across a woman he has never seen before while attending his friend's wedding. The film is an emotional journey about what happens to the protagonist when he meets this beautiful stranger and falls in love with her. The movie was a big hit in Tamil cinema and won numerous awards. The story revolves around Sathya, who has recently been tasked by God to marry after being diagnosed with Incurable Tuberculosis. He wakes up one day to find that his best friend from college has decided to get married without even telling him about it, and goes on to meet Meenakshi, at her wedding reception where they instantly fall in love. However, when Sathya finds out that she goes to the same college he does, he finds out that her father is the biggest don in the area. He tries to convince himself and his family and friends of pursuing her, but is faced with a lot of opposition from all sides. The film boasts of a star-studded cast including Premgi Amaran, Keerthi Chawla and John Vijay. Premgi has received great acclaim for his performance as Sathya and his hero-look. His Dubbing artiste for Sathya was Saakshi Siva who then went on to become a popular actor in Tamil Cinema under the screen name "Vijay Vasanth". The soundtrack was composed by Muruga Deva. Tamil Nadu State Film Awards 2009 is the 2nd Tamil Nadu State Film Awards ceremony presented by state's official government agency, Department of Information and Public Relations for film releases of 2009. This year is the 73th edition which was held on 17 February 2010. The awards were given in five categories including Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Music Director and Best Choreography. The awards were presented by P. S. Keeravani and V. V.
